Dan helps Education Cities and its members identify the most impactful policies, practices, and programs through data analysis. Findings from his work support publications and research, and inform programming and consulting work.
Prior to joining Education Cities, Dan was Data Manager at RGV FOCUS, an Educate Texas initiative, which supports students in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas through public, private and nonprofit collaboration. In that role, Dan convened groups of district and higher education administrators around issues including dropout prevention and recovery, FAFSA completion, and college readiness, and led efforts to measure student success from cradle-to-career.
At Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Dan worked with Fortune 100 companies on primary and secondary research projects to measure and enhance corporate reputation. He also held research positions at the U.S. Department of State and Consumers Union, the policy and advocacy division of Consumer Reports.
Dan has a bachelor’s degree in government and sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs.
